PROJECT 365

Beginning of this year I was full of resolutions. I wrote them down, somewhere. Promised myself to make at least some (one been the most ) of them come true. This post will not carry what those resolutions were, but one very special one, that I am proud to say that I manged to carry on and fingers cross accomplish by the end of the year.

PROJECT 365
Project 365 is a very simple concept. Those who sign up for it will have to take one photo each day for an year. Hence it's 365, representing the each day of the year. Today is the 187th day of the year. And I am happy to say that I was able to take one for most of the days. I have missed couple of days due to my exams and if I was overwhelmed with work.

Hiccups..
When I started off with the project I used to take a photo, upload and add a comment underneath it EACH day. I even started a separate blog for it. Then I realized that the whole process consumed more time. Besides that I was in a very tight schedule due to my work and exam calendar. Hence I stared uploading every weekend. But there were some weekends where I was not available and kept on missing, uploading the pictures. As of now I am lagging behind in uploading photos from May onward. I will need two-three days dedicated to upload those pictures.

Project 365_Day 55 (Sorry!)

Continue...
Yes I am still carrying on with my project. Since my lovely camera is tad heavy to carry everywhere I go, I use my iPhone. It's the iPhone 3G (8GB) and never have let me down in seeing what I saw.

My equipments

I knew I love clicking away since I was 12 or 13. Then again I had to share that reel camera with my sibling who also believed he is too awesome and takes better photos. When I turned 16 I demanded my own real camera and even did my high school project based on camera, photography and went around clicking flowers, trees and cats.

The wonderful digital camera was introduced to the world eventually. But I didn't have the right amount of money to buy  one myself. With studies I had to put an end to my love. However along came, camera phones and I started meeting my love on and off. My targets were again, flowers, trees, buildings but better yet the sky. Everyday (almost) I used to take a photo of the sky. It just made me feel so happy.

Years passed by. I felt now is the time to buy a proper DSLR. But before I jump on to a real expensive kit I wanted to try out some thing hardy and workable. Lucky for me I got a good deal. Nikon D70 with a zoom lens and a wide angle lens. Yes it was slightly but respectfully used. So far it's been an year (Got my hand on the babe last year, 25 June 2010)

We have made love. Our creations can be found here http://www.flickr.com/photos/rannelee/

Do visit, comment, criticize. I and my Nikon will love it.
